I think swinging together is summing up my intentions for this year! January is when I gear up to get the blog all nice and shiny for you come summer. I work on it almost every day already, but I get intentional about getting your feedback to make sure my lists are as up-to-date as possible. I appreciate it when you respond with your local knowledge! It makes this resource serve its intended purpose to get everyone out to play!
As I go through these next months updating, I may not always create an Instagram post (because they take a long time!), but I will try to keep you informed inside this weekly newsletter. You will increasingly see this stamp at the bottom of blog posts! Right now it should mostly be 2022 and 2023 - if you see any older than that please let me know so I can update!
I am actually DREAMING about this swings post! I had a dream last night that I missed one that you told me about and I was disappointed in myself for missing it! This is apparently very important to my brain! So maybe I will have sweet dreams now knowing that you have a complete list of 15+ Parks with Mommy & Me Baby Swings?
This is the “big hidden park”! Not if you live in Huntington Beach, but if you’ve never visited Central Park you’ll be surprised to start exploring all this park has to offer. Make sure you read the post because there is MUCH MORE beyond this one playground.
As I was updating that swings list post, I discovered I needed to update photos for the Huntington Beach Central Park West new playground that opened back in 2022. I fixed it and now all the photos are true to how it actually looks now. I released a whole Guide Notes PDF to this park last year (to help you find the playground locations). If you missed it and want it, just hit "REPLY” and ask! I can send it your way.
Tiny Hikes Teaser: You never know what you are going to see on a Tiny Hike, but you WILL get some sort of nature connection together with your family. We got to see this Belted Kingfisher when I was scouting out this week’s hike with my daughter. I have only seen one 3 times in my life, counting this one! I was so excited - which led to talks & smiles about why this bird is a favorite of mine. One little hint about where we saw this guy is knowing about the habitat where they live: near the water. Keep your eyes out if you go!
Trail Guide #15 is behind the paywall below. Would love for you to collect and experience these trail guides each week to inspire you to take a tiny hike and bring you closer to each other + closer to nature. Find out all the details here.
